So I am just about done with my 30day cycle, and I lost 20lbs.  I admit that during the weekends it was hell, as life interfered with my plans, but the food choices I made were done knowing that I should expect any loses after falling off the wagon.  So, compared to other programs, I am still happy.  My clothes are loose, I feel great, and so much healthier!  I will go through the transition and then probably do this again.

Compared to other programs (WW, Flat Belly Diet, Atkins, South Beach) this program is SO motivating!  The foods choices are boring, no question about that, BUT the scale going down is AMAZING!!  i would stop myself from making stupid choices, because I became addicted to seeing the numbers go down, and remembering the last time I was at that weight, and now I am at the weight that I was before my second child.  The next phase will hopefully put me at the weight before my first :))).

Good luck everyone, and good luck, you’ve made the right choice.

I have never done a major diet like this. I have always thought exercise will do it. As I got older exercise wasnt working and the family life got busier. Eventually, the exercise depleted from my regular schedule.  I got so caught up in my career and family I let myself go and didnt take the time I should have to exercise.  So, when I saw this new miracle diet and that it was under the supervision of a doctor then I thought well it has to work and this is my last resort before I go laser lipo. I really think the diet is going to work for me. I feel more confident now after my first week, and the energy I have is amazing compared to the first few days of the low cal diet.  To be honest, if I dont make this work then its my fault, I paid the money and I need to give it a shot.  My friends husband is doing the diet same time as me, and I ask her how much has he lost? Its twice of what I have.  It seems men lose more than the women do.  So far, I think the program is working. The way I know is that I check my stix every morning and my weight and see some results!  You will need will power, its not easy doing the grocery shopping and seeing the fresh bread, or co-workers going out to lunch and you cant, but I know eventually things will pay off this is just a short time and a very rapid loss of weight, not to mention some great habits of making low calorie meals. I am starting to get the hang of it and loose the cravings little by little.
I will share with you something yummy… I cant do stevia in the raw for my sugar substitute so I did some searching and found some other sugars that had a stevia base but tasted almost like sugar to me.  I took it into the doc to ask if I could use it instead of stevia in the raw.  Its called Pure Via and it has helped me get through the initial phase.  If I could also share with you a favorite of mine is to get a black coffee from starbucks and put some pure via in it over ice!  That stuff keeps me going and its sooo tasty.

One of the main reasons diets fail is that they TAKE TOO LONG.  The drop-out rate after 60 days on any program begins to skyrocket.  So, it is critical to safely lose weight as fast as possible to have a high likelihood of success, then transition to a manageable ongoing eating program that can be handled without acute hunger or unrealistic food requirements, herculean willpower or the need for constant meetings, etc.  Rather than taking many months or years to achieve target weight loss (with a high failure rate), the principle behind WeightNot is that it requires a medical intervention to safely and quickly lose a substantial amount of weight and restore proper body composition.  Once achieved, a person is in a much better position to incorporate exercise and healthy eating habits—typically with improved energy, sleep, mobility and knowledge about their health.

On the second page of your WeightNot materials, you’ll actually find a chart that outlines the key reasons for diet failure—and the way that WeightNot is designed to directly address each of these.

Thanks for the reply!  If you don’t mind sharing, how many lbs did you lose, and how long did it take you?

In terms of the difference between WeightNot and the other lifestyle programs, first of all those are not medically designed programs involving any assessment of your health or bringing any real medical knowledge or supervision to the table.  But for me, the biggest difference is the dramatic results that people seem to be getting in such a short time, including me.  It took me about 10 years to put on the extra weight, and it has taken me less than a month to lose all of it on this program—I’m not sure I could have done this through the other programs, or if I did it would have taken forever.  The program is obviously more restrictive than some other programs, but it is for such a short time that it is worth it, and it is easy to just take it day by day.  I’m also finding that I’m really changing my thinking and my desires about what I eat, so it’s been a window for me to recognize and fix some bad habits (especially portion size and habitual eating)—as well as to become more aware about what I’m putting in my body.  I’ve always exercised regularly, and that didn’t stop the weight from packing on, so I knew that it had to be a diet change.  Now i understand how to maintain (or even lose more) weight and don’t think i need a lifestyle program for this.

Hi Everyone,

I am very excited about the program!  I have been looking at different diets, of course, many of them advising to look at them as a ‘lifestyle’ change, and so on…  I also believe that once I had kids my entire body changed and became sluggish, and the whole concept of calories in vs. calories out doesn’t quite make sense to me, as I don’t think my lifestyle changed that drastically to account for a 40lb gain.  As more than 90% of diets fail, obviously I didn’t want to start something where I would have to rely solely on my willpower.  I did WeightWatchers in the past, and it worked, but even with the meetings I had a hard time keeping motivated.  I lost 18 lbs, which I regained.  So, my question to you is what have you tried in the past?  Why does WeightNot make sense to you vs. all the others?

Thank you,
SAL
